Andorra initiated measures to overcome the effect of climate change in the mountain areas. The initiative was announced by the Andorran delegation at the event, which took place on 14th November in Marrakech as part of the UN climate conference. The event was organized with the support of the United Nations Organization.
The goal – to increase public awareness of the possible consequences of climate change in mountain regions, as well as the special sensitivity of mountain regions to climate change and its impact on the protection of ecosystems.
The event was held with the participation of the World Meteorological Organization (Secretary-General professor Petteri Taalas), as well as representatives of ministries of environment and natural resources of Andorra, Pakistan, Colombia, Italy.
