Air quality in Andorra (Pyrenees) since 2017 has been recognized as the best in the last 12 years. It was stated by the director of the Department on the environment and sustainable development of the Government of Andorra Marc Rossell.
According to his report, air quality has been gradually improving since 2006, and in recent years it has stabilized at a very high level. In fact, in 2017 air quality was excellent or good in 91% of cases, relatively poor – in 8% of cases and bad – in 1%, that is less than 60 hours of the year.
Despite more than satisfactory air quality indicators, the Andorran government continues to improve the environmental situation in the Principality. In particular, the upcoming spring there will be opened several points for renting and charging electric bicycles, which will help to reduce using of vehicles.
With regard to air pollution with exhaust gases, their average annual concentration was 29 μg / m3, which is below the limit of 40 μg / m3.
