Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP) reports on growing interest of Portuguese companies to the Andorran market

Representatives of the ACTUA, Andorra (Pyrenees) (Agency for Economic Development of Andorra responsible for foreign investors) and the Portuguese Foreign Trade Agency held a meeting in Lisbon on 16th May.

In particular, ACTUA Director Imma Jiménez, Ambassador of Andorra to Portugal Jaume Serra, Administrator of the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP) António Silva and the Assistant Director of the Department of Business development in the external markets of AICEP Francisca Lucena took part in the meeting.

The parties noted the growing interest in the development of joint business projects after the signing of an agreement on the exclusion of double taxation between 2 countries.

According to Antonio Silva, “this meeting opened the door for the further development of business relations, which was very timely, the number of Portuguese companies interested to invest in the Andorra market, after signing an agreement on the exclusion of double taxation between the countries, is growing rapidly.”

The agreement entered into force on 23d April, 2017.

In October 2017 Lisbon offered to hold a regular meeting with the participation of Andorra and Portugal business representatives.
