A cooperation agreement for the promotion of blood donation has been signed between Spain and Andorra (Pyrenees).
On Thursday 20th September, Andorra’s Minister of Health, Carles Alvarez, signed a cooperation agreement with his Spanish counterpart, Maria Luisa Carcedo, to promote blood donation and obtain blood components for transfusions.
The meeting aimed to ensure reciprocal and effective cooperation between the two countries and to promote the functioning of the hemovigilance systems. That is to say, to monitor the quality of procedures during blood transfusions. The implementation of this agreement will be done in particular with regard to the technical consequences.
A blood product import agreement already exists with France (since November 2017).
