140 students pass the official examinations of the Catalan language

The official examinations of the levels A1 to C1 of Catalan language, took place, on January 25 and 26 in Escaldes-Engordany in Andorra (Pyrenees), respectively, accumulated a total of 207 who sat the exams, of which 140 (67.63%) got to pass the tests successfully.

The high percentage of those approved is due to the quality training offered by the Catalan Language Area of the Government of Andorra, based on two types: the face-to-face courses of Catalan and the guided self-learning. Both systems, free and complementary, work the communicative aspects of the language with the aim of favoring the linguistic autonomy of each apprentice.

The public body in charge of language policy augurs a higher figure of students in the second half of the 2018-2019 academic year, bearing in mind that during the month of January 315 citizens were registered in the beginner’s courses of the Catalan language (A1, A2 and Oral Practices) and 105 more in the general and formal levels of written expression (B1, B2 and C1 courses). In total, 420 people.

In parallel to these figures, it is worth highlighting the assistance of 237 students in the five centers of self-learning of Catalan in the Principality during last January, highlighting above all, that of the central parishes, with almost half users, 130 in the center located in Escaldes-Engordany.
