energy_saving_andorraThe Government of Andorra plans to spend about €500 000 to improve energy efficiency of school buildings in 2016, reported the Minister of education Eric Jover Comas in the framework of the presentation of the 3E program (program for improving energy efficiency of the Principality).

Among the priority projects – insulation of the schools in the district of Pas de la Casa – the highest mountain area of Andorra (Pyrenees), where the temperature in winter is lower than in other areas. Finally it is planned to reduce by 90 000 liters of annual diesel consumption for heating.

The installation of thermostatic screens for better insulation is one of the technologies to implement the plan.

Energy saving modules are already installed in Andorran primary and secondary schools of Ordino.

In all schools of Andorra will be carried out regular inspections in order to monitor the implementation of projects in the area of energy saving.
