The opening of Carmen Thyssen museum in Andorra is scheduled on 16th March

Minister of Tourism and Trade of the Andorra Francesc Camp took part in the 37th International Tourism Fair in Madrid (Spain), which runs until 22d January. He announced several summer and winter sporting events, such as the stage of the competition “La Vuelta a España 2017”, Cirque du Soleil “Scalada Stelar”, as well as the opening of the Carmen Thyssen museum in Andorra (Pyrenees), which is scheduled on 16th March.

The museum will open its doors on the first floor of the former hotel Valira in Escaldes-Engordany. Museum Area – 250 sq. m. The exhibition will present the main directions of art of 19th and 20th centuries: from the realism of the late nineteenth century to the late twentieth century hyperrealism, as well as works of the Impressionists. In addition, a significant part of the exhibition will present the work of the French Post-Impressionists, American and Catalan Modernism, European Cubism and German Expressionism. With this exhibition the museum intends to host about 55000 visitors. A year later, the exposure will be partially or completely updated.

The Minister was also invited to the reception to Spain’s King Felipe VI. The reception marks the official start of the International Year of ecotourism. The initiator of this event in Spain is the World Tourism Organization.
