El Cap del Bosc de Moretó-3

El Cap del Bosc de Moretó is a treasure of Andorra (Pyrenees), a small mountain between Grau Roig (Grau Roig) and Soldeu (Soldeu).

It is surrounded by forests and is near the top of the Pic Baix del Cubil. Snowshoes route will give you a great pleasure and will be remembered for a long time.

The route starts near the hotel Peretol (1.970 m), which stands on the river Valira. You can also see the hotel Bordes d’Envalira not far. We’re heading into the woods: first to the South/South-East from the hotel and ski slopes, and then to the West/Northwest. This track is in perfect condition, it is used by cars every day. We go through the woods to Pla de les Pedres (2.150 m). The journey time is 35 minutes. Then we leave the forest. Right there is a stone cave, it is situated at the foot of the slopes at the end of the forest. From this point there is a beautiful view to the top of the Pic Alt del Cubil, which looks like a giant pyramid. Turn left and go Southeast. Next, there will be a short and easy ascent, and our path will again go through the forest parallel to the ski tracks. We keep from them to the roght just a few hundred meters.

Continue uncomplicated and very enjoyable ascent.

After 100 meters we leave the forest and we are on a plateau. It is located at the foot of the gentle and wide slope.

The reward is the beautiful view of the mountain Grau Roig.

Then turn right towards the ski slopes. We have reached the point of the route, where begins long ascent to the top of the Cap del Bosc de Moretó (2.400 m). Total time – 1 hour 25 min.

Here we are. Close from the chair lift at the slope that leads to Pic Baix del Cubil.

And again – great views of the plateau of Land Concord (Terreny de Concòrdia), and Grau Roig and Pessons.

Descent is the same route.
