The Director of Barcelona Supercomputing Center, professor Mateo Valero will speak in the University of Andorra

The Director of Barcelona (Spain, Catalonia) Supercomputing Center (BSC), professor Mateo Valero will speak at the opening ceremony of the new academic year 2016-2017 in the University of Andorra. The opening ceremony will be held at the cultural center Lauredià in San Julia de Loria, Andorra (Pyrenees) on 13th October at 11:00.

The report will be dedicated to international research in the field of computer engineering.

The event is open and free.

The head of the Government of AndorraAntoni Martí Petit, and the rector of the University of Andorra Miquel Nicolau will also participate in the ceremony.

Mateo Valero is a head of Barcelona Supercomputing Center (Centro Nacional de Supercomputación) since its foundation in 2004. The center is the most authoritative institution in the Pyrenees Peninsula and one of the most influential in Europe. It is also known as MareNostrum.

Mateo Valero is also known as the professor of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) since 1983.
