best-translation-catalan-languageThe awarding ceremony for the best translation of Catalan literature will take place in the National Audience of Andorra on 11th November. The best project in the area of promotion of the Catalan language outside of the countries where it is the official language will also be chosen during the ceremony.

The event will be attended by the Minister of Culture of Andorra Olga Gelabert, Minister of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia Santi Vila, representative of the municipality of Barcelona Jaume Collboni, director of the Ramon Llull institute Manuel Forcano, Director of the Foundation Ramon Llull Vicenç Villatoro, as well as the president of the Catalan Fund of culture Miquel Strubell.

The winners will be both individuals and organizations.

Ramon Llull – Catalan mystic and poet whose writings helped to develop the Romance Catalan language and widely influenced Neoplatonic mysticism throughout medieval and 17th-century Europe. He is best known in the history of ideas as the inventor of an “art of finding truth” (ars inveniendi veritatis) that was primarily intended to support the Roman Catholic faith in missionary work but was also designed to unify all branches of knowledge.
